Looking to have a garment mended? Perhaps I mended one of your garments in the past or you saw me doing on-site mending at an event? While I wish I could mend every piece of clothing in need of love, the reality is that I simply don't have time to offer general mending services outside of the occasional pop-up event! However, read on for info on projects I may consider, as well as recommendations for small businesses who can help repair your clothes!

Visible Mending Commissions

I will consider creative visible mending commissions on a case by case basis. If you like my style of visible mending and are interested in having me work my magic on a garment you own, let's start a conversation! You can email me at hello@jessamyshay.com. Please describe your garment and what repair is needed, and include several photos of the entire garment and the area in need of mending. Please be aware that I may not be able to accept your commission due to constraints on my time (between teaching, making my own work, and running a vintage business, I'm usually pretty busy!) Turnaround will depend on the project, but expect a minimum of three weeks. My rate for mending commissions begins at $40/hr. Items I can't accept for this type of mending inlcude athletic wear, performance fabrics, and formalwear. Items that are ideal for this type of mending inlcude denim, cotton or linen shirts and trousers, or wool jackets.
